Some weddings make you cry. Some make you dance. Medina and Osamudiamen’s Nigerian-Bosnian wedding in Dornbirn, Austria, made everyone do both—while seriously testing how much heat our cameras could handle.
Set against beautiful natural surroundings, this destination wedding brought together two cultures, families, and enough energy to make standing still feel completely inappropriate.
And did we mention the heat?
Our Cameras Almost Melted. We Were Not Far Behind.
It was one of the hottest days of the year, and we felt every degree. Wedding photography and videography usually involve plenty of movement, but this day came with a complimentary sauna experience.
Our cameras practically needed their own cold drinks.
Still, when there is this much happening in front of you, the heat becomes a background detail. A very sweaty background detail.
First, a Haircut. Then, a Wedding.
Every wedding morning has its own rhythm. Getting dressed, checking the time, making sure nobody has lost the rings…
At this wedding, the groom was also giving the boys haircuts.
Apparently, getting married wasn’t quite enough for Osamudiamen’s schedule. He had a few fresh looks to deliver first. For us, these are the moments that make documentary wedding photography so rewarding: the little surprises that tell you more about the people than any carefully planned pose ever could.
Why Walk When You Can Dance?
The Nigerian energy at this wedding was something special. It felt as though almost everything could happen while dancing—and honestly, we started wondering why every wedding doesn’t work this way.
There was movement, rhythm, and joy that pulled everyone into the celebration. Add the Bosnian side of the family, and you have a multicultural wedding with a personality entirely its own.
We also witnessed a foot-washing ritual involving the bride and groom, something new to us at a wedding. Experiencing moments like this is one of the pleasures of our work: every celebration gives us a chance to listen, learn, and capture something we haven’t seen before.
A Sister’s Speech, and the Tears That Followed
For all the dancing and laughter, one of the most memorable moments was beautifully simple: Medina listening to her sister’s speech.
Her emotions were right there on her face. You didn’t need to know their whole story to feel the connection between them. The way Medina responded made it clear just how much her sister’s words meant.
These are the moments we look for when creating a cinematic wedding film. A glance. A trembling smile. The effort to hold back tears before giving up completely.
And throughout the day, that same emotion was visible between Medina and Osamudiamen. You could see how much they had looked forward to finally being here, celebrating together.

A destination wedding in Austria can offer a beautiful setting, and Dornbirn certainly delivered. But what stays with us is the people.
Different cultures bring different rhythms, traditions, and ways of expressing joy. As destination wedding photographers and videographers, we get to step into those worlds and tell a story shaped by the people living it.
Medina and Osamudiamen gave us a day full of new experiences, genuine emotion, and dancing that made our job both wonderfully unpredictable and incredibly fun.
